Music Copyright & Licensing
Cheer and dance teams are always looking for the latest new music to add to their routines. Improvisation in cheerleading and dance is heavily involved with finding that perfect beat used within a routine. Unsuspecting cheer coaches may use copyrighted music without knowing they have violated U.S. Copyright Law regarding copyright infringement, which can result in legal action taken against the coach and/or their program.
Information and guidelines are provided at USA Cheer to educate coaches about music copyright infringement when choosing music for cheerleading and dance competitions and the complications that may result.
If you plan on attending any CCC cheerleading or dance event, you will need to supply music that complies with these guidelines complete the Music Copyright Compliance Form stating that all copyright requirements were met prior to you obtaining your music from your producer.
